Our Affiliations

Calvary Baptist is an independent, self-governing church whose members have full authority for all decisions of the church.

The church has chosen to affiliate with three Baptist groups

• Southwest Iowa Baptist Association composed of 5 churches

• Baptist Convention of Iowa composed of 98 churches

• Southern Baptist Convention composed of about 40,000 churches

We contribute an amount which we determine (usually 15-17% of our total annual receipts) to support the world-wide spread of the gospel through the three organizations with which we are affiliated.

Our History

Calvary Baptist Church was established in the fall of 1977 with seven charter members. The church was begun with assistance from Baptist churches in Missouri and from the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

For many years the church met in homes and rented facilities until the present building was constructed in 1995. The church has had four pastors - Bob Leubbert, Lonnie Hulsey, Dale Tripp, and then pastor Arnold Peterson. We are currently seeking a pastor.
