Beliefs & Practices

We believe the Bible is God's revealed written word and it is our authority for all that we believe and teach.

We believe that Jesus is God's divine Son and is the revealed living word of God. The Bible must be understood in harmony with the life and teachings of Jesus.

We believe the Holy Spirit is Jesus living in us and guiding us. Everything which the Holy Spirit teaches and commands us must be in harmony with the word of the Bible and the teachings of Jesus.

We use the "Baptist Faith and Message" confessions of 1963 and 2000 as good summaries of Baptist doctrine. However, they do not have any authority over us in our understanding of the Bible and our obligations in Christian living.

We believe in and practice the independence of each local church, religious liberty for all persons, separation of church and state, cooperation with sister churches in support of missions and other worthy causes, the servant leadership of the pastor, the immersion of born-again believers, and the observance of open communion at least four times each year.
